The vacancy
Do you want to work on extraordinary technical installations and see the world? As an International Service Engineer at Van Driel, you will work on board exclusive superyachts, in locations in the Netherlands and far beyond.
One day you will be investigating a malfunction on a crane in a European marina. The next day you will be maintaining a hydraulic platform or recommissioning an installation. No standard machines, no assembly line work and almost never the same job twice.
What are you going to do?
As a Service Technician, you ensure that our yacht equipment remains safe and reliably functional. You inspect and maintain cranes, hatches, doors, platforms, and other custom solutions. You also troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults, perform repairs and refit work, and recommission installations.
You discuss the work with the crew or technical representative and document your findings in a clear service report. You work independently or alongside a colleague, receiving support from our engineers, workshop, and service organization.
Which products are you working on?
You work on a wide variety of custom solutions for luxury and superyachts, including cranes, hull and deck hatches, doors, platforms, telescoping systems, and other moving installations. Each installation is specially designed for the yacht on which it is applied and requires technical insight, accuracy, and a practical approach.
What are you bringing?
You have a vocational education (MBO) at level 3 or 4 in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a similar field. You are interested in mechanics, hydraulics, and electrical engineering, and you can read technical drawings or want to learn how to do so. You work carefully, think in solutions, and can take responsibility independently.
You speak Dutch, can get by well in English, and have a category B driver's license. Additionally, you enjoy traveling abroad regularly and are flexible when a trip starts on a Sunday, a job lasts until Saturday, or an assignment occasionally takes about two weeks.
Experience in shipbuilding, machine building, shipping, or field service is a plus. Do you have a solid technical foundation but not all the experience yet? Then experienced colleagues will ensure that you get to know our products and systems well.
What do we offer you?
Salary from € 3,200 to € 4,500 gross per month
Additional compensation for working abroad
Clear travel planning and well-arranged transport and accommodation
Compensation for travel hours and overtime
Professional tools and good resources
Training courses and certificates tailored to your development
Guidance by experienced technicians and engineers
A lot of freedom and responsibility
